That means there are many more jobs in the world than we ever imagined, and most of these jobs are unknown to us! Hence, we are going to introduce some of the weirdest and most unfamiliar jobs in the world!

Torch Manager of Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty in New York is one of the prides of American. This statue is not only big and beautiful, but also has historical meaning dating back to the American Revolution. Now, when most people think about New York, they will think about the Statue of Liberty.

Now I will introduce a job, it is the Torch Manager of the Statue of Liberty which is a very amazing job. This job is to keep the fire of the Statue of Liberty alive. The torch is an electric lamp, so the manager just has to make sure it never goes out. The torch should always shine very brightly, so I think this job is very important.

The manager needs to make sure that no matter what happens, whether it be lightning storms or blackouts, the light continues to shine. I don`t know the details, but I am confident that the Torch Manager of the Statue of Liberty will have to deal with a lot of stress. I think this job is not an easy one. But this job should exist.

Island caretaker

Various unexpected jobs exist in the world, and one of the most amazing is that of Island Caretaker. This job has been called the “dream job.” I read the explanation about this job, and it is not a regular job, but a contract job.

 This job includes picking up leaves, and feeding the fishes of the island. The Island caretaker makes a six-month contract and is provided with a house and transportation without cost. And this job`s pay is $150,000, which is approximately 140,000,000 Korean won.

 Now I get to know why this job has been called the “dream job.” I guess this job is very easy, peaceful and stress free! Moreover, this job even pays good money!

Medical illustrator

The Medical Illustrator draws pictures that doctors can use to communicate medical information. For example, when a doctor is explaining a problem to a patient, they may use a poster of human organs to help with the explanation. We often find the pictures by medical illustrators in books, posters, brochures and videos. The pictures are often used by doctors to understand and explain what is happening at the cell level. They are often used in lectures by professors and in doctors’ offices to explain medical problems to patients.

Their job of medical illustrator combines the roles of illustrator with that of medical practitioner, so a high degree of skill is required. Their main purpose is to convey medical information through sensitive and realistic pictures.

As medical science develops, medical illustrators are not only required for education and research but also for the manufacture of human body aids like artificial limbs. To be a medical illustrator you should have the sense of beauty and biological knowledge.

Traffic Psychologist

According to the OECD, Korea is ranked as the worst place for traffic safety. Especially, the death poll per 10,000 cars due to traffic accident in Korea was twice higher than the OECD average in 2012 and the proportion of safety belt use is much lower than in other countries. Therefore, traffic psychologist is an unfamiliar, but very important job in our society.

Originally, traffic psychology was initiated in Germany in order to treat or re-educate abnormal drivers. Mainly, they try to correct wrong driving habits, but they also use experiments to analyze the problems that drivers face when using the roads or pedestrians face when crossing streets, and devise ways of solving these problems. In other words, they suggest policies to make roads safer. For example, the yellow hagwan buses you can often see on the streets are the result of recommendations from traffic psychologists.

Although traffic psychology is a somewhat undeveloped area in Korea, it is considered that this job has a very important role in the future in Korea. It has been hugely successful in other countries where traffic psychologists have been active for several years. If the level of consciousness in traffic increases, the demand for traffic psychologists will grow.

There are so many jobs in the world that we don’t know about. In the preceding paragraph, we only deal with four jobs.
